Frequently asked questions

Can UC Analog power phone-line powered equipment?

Yes. UC Analog can supply power to equipment that relies on phone lines as a primary or secondary power source, providing up to 28 mA while maintaining the required 5–7 V on the line when off-hook. If your equipment requires more than 28 mA, an external AC power adapter is recommended to power it directly.

Do we need to replace our existing alarm or safety systems to use UC Analog?

No. UC Analog is designed for simple migration. Organizations can keep using their existing systems. The device connects to your current analog equipment and replaces only the underlying phone line connection

How do I know if my device is connected to the internet?

Check the "Status" or "Network" LED. A solid light typically indicates a successful connection, while a blinking or off LED suggests a network configuration or hardware issue.

Is there a secure network option for sensitive environments?

Yes. UC Analog offers an MFVN-compliant network option that ensures voice traffic never crosses the public internet for organizations with strict security or data sovereignty requirements.

What types of equipment and use cases is UC Analog designed for?

UC Analog is ideal for any application that currently relies on an analog phone line, including fire alarms, security panels, elevator phones, building entry phones, public safety phones, fax machines, and essential or backup phone lines.

How many analog phone lines does one UC Analog unit support?

Each unit supports up to four analog phone lines via four RJ-11 FXS ports, with 55Vrms Low Power Ringing and smart ringing to reduce peak instantaneous power draw.
